You could try a different IMAP client, like Thunderbird to see if that can at least pull the emails down? Getting it into Outlook from Thunderbird should be easier.

@badboyilprimo to use the regex try something like Agent Ransack. In the Options tab switch the 'File name' to 'Regular expression' then search for ^[^.]+$ in the File name field.

Are you logging in as Administrator or a user which also has admin privileges. Win 7 has something called a 'Filtered Token' which can cause problems.
