comment Asus GTX650: Underpowered it and it is no longer detected. Driver issues or damaged?
What operating system are you using? Does the operating system (or even the BIOS) detect the card (even without drivers, it should recognise that there is something plugged in)? When you say "corrected it with a decent PSU", what PSU did you upgrade to?

comment Pcie x16 slot 2 broken?
There's always the possibility that it's faulty. If the suggestions below don't work, you may need to get a replacement under warranty.

Does slot 2 work if it you run with a single GPU plugged into it, or only when you try to SLI?

I've never had much luck with symbolic links in Windows, but maybe have a look at this and see if it does what you need: superuser.com/questions/182553/…

Have you tried adjusting the monitor's V-position? Should be accessible in its settings somewhere.

@Daniel: Yeah, I've found cut/paste into a fresh document is the only way to fix a document sometimes.

What version of vim are you using? I can't repeat the problem on 7.3.

comment Is it possible to share the same “hard drive” partition with a dual-boot?
@Hennes, thanks for the firsthand account. As I mentioned, no issues in recent times for me, but I was pretty gung-ho because I didn't know about any problems...

@Ramhound: I may have read the same post then :). Since I haven't experienced it, always interested in "positive examples" of the problem. Also, is it still possible to install Win7 on FAT32?

comment Is it possible to share the same “hard drive” partition with a dual-boot?
@Ramhound: have you ever experienced this potential problem? I've heard about it, but I did "Run Linux -> mount Windows/NTFS file system -> copy/modify files" on a dual-boot system for over a year without any issues.

comment How to restore Vista from a corrupted install of Xubuntu?
Is there anything on your Vista partition not backed up? (This can help with suggestions, for example: factory reset isn't a possible solution if you have important files). Also, I've done this (Vista+Xubuntu on laptop), it works great. No matter what the outcome, if your lappy is overheating trying to install Xubuntu, it may have some underlying hardware issues to look at.

comment My SSD is full, but the files don't add up to the capacity
Also, the file size doesn't always match the size the file takes up on the disk, since small files still take up the block size. Not sure if you've taken that into account.

Have you turned off hibernate? That's 8GB you'd free up.
