it actually changes the volume but in unexpected ways. sometimes when i try to decrease the volume it actually increases. when i try to increase the volume, the volume position will shake up and down very fast and slowly go up at the same time (if you can picture this). perhaps the contacts are dirty.

so this is just a matter of a dirty potentiometer? or does it require re-wiring?

i will end up using it but i have am having problems opening up files when i load gVim. i type ':e file.html' and it creates a new one when I want it to open up the one in this folder over here. you know? do you know how to open up files in gVim via some built in file search tool? i know about MRU, NERDtree and Fuzzyfinder but right now I cant get them to work! more details on that here superuser.com/questions/168751/…

I see. It still takes a lot to write %HOMEPATH%. Also you can't auto-complete it. Is there a way I can make my username be equal to %HOMEPATH% by making a new command in cmd.exe?

I see that I have the spell check plug in load but I can not find the file responsiable for this error styling under the spell check folder in my vim72 folder. strange.
