comment What is the best FREE way to remove duplicate files from iTunes?
What am I missing here? Did you import songs twice? Why would they show up more than once? (I don't mean this sarcastically...I'm trying to figure out how this problem arises.)

comment Is pdf virus proof?
For #2, are you talking about code determining this, or a user? IE, are you wondering how to write something to determine if the file is a PDF (good for Stack Overflow), or how to use a program or other utility to do the determination (good for SuperUser)?

comment Why does installing NVidia 9600GT graphics card, take 1GB of RAM away from Windows?
Even though the card has its own RAM the computer can't directly address it and still address your 4GB of computer RAM, because your 32 bit machine can only directly address 4GB. Don't know why it would use 1GB, exactly, but that's why it takes away from your usable memory.

1GB of video memory? At 32 bits per pixel, on 4:3 monitors, that would be more than 16,000 x 12,000 pixels. Am I missing something? Ooh. Maybe a lot of that memory is used for cached textures or something? Hadn't thought of that...

Cha-ching! That did it! Not sure how it managed to get offscreen (and shrunk down to a bizarrely small state) like this, but this did the trick. Thanks!

comment I can't “unmaximize” my window
@Michael: If I do this while it's maximized, it just disappears. Again, it's still in the taskbar, but no window is visible.

Dude. If this is what you're worried about, you have too much time on your hands.

comment Is there a limit on the number of USB external drives?
I tried using a powered hub last night, but still run into the same issue.

Good theory, so +1, but in my case it didn't pan out. BIOS is apparently not scanning USB for bootable devices.

comment My Philips CRT 19" 109p has all gone white, is the Tube dead?
Less power: yes. Better resolution: not necessarily. Less space: yes. Easier to read: arguable.

Hmm. Interesting...but still, shouldn't that increase things only by some linear factor? I'm seeing a tipping point where the boot time increases by a significantly larger percentage adding drive #n than it did by adding drive #(n-1).
