comment Are ultra-thin keyboards better for your health than classic ones?
I'm typing on one right now. It's not raising, but tilting in the middle. It's high enough by itself I guess. Your wrists are rotated a bit "thumbs up", and tilting both parts makes it less of an effort.

comment Why does Win7 show less wireless networks than WifiInfoView
Where I live I can see about 20 networks on my Mac. It shows the ones you have used before on top, the rest is based on strength.

comment What to do when I can't turn my wet laptop on?
Turning the power on is one example of an experiment! By taking out the harddisk, you make sure it doesn't get more damaged in case of short circuit. That could damage the harddisk, making it impossible to use without expensive repairs.

comment How does Google's new re-captcha work?
That seems a bit too simple. So you say the only difference here is a matter of how fast you scroll down? I guess if it's done in an instant, it might be a robot, but once this is known, the bot just has to wait a little longer to appear human. Not a good test!

comment Harddisk reinstalled - can data be recovered?
I removed the harddisk, attached it to a desktop computer. Testdisk itself was not very useful, although interesting to know it exists. Photorec - part of Testdisk - is another story. This has recovered over 10k files by now, of which 99% will be system files and probably useless. I found several documents that do belong to the user, so it seems to work. Filename and dates are gone, but that was to be expected.

comment Harddisk reinstalled - can data be recovered?
I removed two partitions, created two new ones, installed Windows 7 and stopped when the user account was to be created. Now I'm running testdisk, and it shows "Linux" when doing the deep analysis. Not sure if that will result in anything, but it does find something.
