comment get bash history from another shell instance
You've closed it anyway, but it's not an exact duplicate. That question wants to be able to set up merged history. I know how to do that. I want to be able to see the history of another shell instance without having initially set up history merging. This leads me to believe it can't be done.

In a command shell, what does route print tell you while you are connected to the VPN?

comment List all files/folders a user may delete? Linux
@acidzombie24 - if you want just directories, find / -writable -type d. If you want just files, find / -writable -type f. If you want files and dirs but not pipes and special files, find / -writable \( -type f -o -type d \).

comment Mixing DDR2 module sizes
I'm getting to where I end up hitting swap on a daily basis, which is painful -- have to go through and prune out processes that aren't in active use... I think even "slow" 3Gb will not hurt too bad.

@kmarsh: Thanks for the confirmation of my thinking. I've been looking at the widescreens at the big box and wondering how awful the screen height will be. I'll have to hunt around for non-wide-screen.

Thanks for the advice. Is it a severe penalty? I was going to install a single 2G module @ 533, but if the mixture is going slow things down, maybe I'll dump the 1G and get 2x2G @ 667 or 800...
