comment How do I view my clipboard history on OS X?
I find that any time I have the QS clipboard plugin enabled that almost every QS action becomes unbearably slow.

It might be worth pointing out that sending "Ctrl-Z" to a foreground process and sending SIGSTOP to its pid are the same thing. (SIGCONT starts the process back again.) I don't know if this would be helpful for others in the same situation or not, but, in my quick testing, sending SIGSTOP followed by SIGCONT duplicates "Ctrl-Z" followed by bg.

comment Firefox quickly forget HTTP Basic Auth
This is an awesome answer. Simple, easy-to-use, no additional software required, and clever in a non-obviously obvious sort of way.

The accepted answer shows that your response is incorrect.

Preview certainly doesn't automatically disappear for me under those conditions on 10.7.4.

comment Use GNU screen as login “shell”
It then becomes hard to do anything with your account other than log in. Also, your sysadmin probably doesn't have screen in /etc/shells. Also, see the accepted answer.

comment How can I stop Mac OS X overriding my hostname when I receive a DHCP request on Snow Leopard?
The default, as it turns out is unset. The command to unset is scutil --set Hostname "".

I'm not trying to be difficult, but why not just press /?

comment Cannot uninstall XP SP3 update
As stated in the question, there is no SP3 restore directory. I updated the question to make that clearer.

comment Is there a way in Mac OS X to stop applications from stealing focus, especially between spaces?
@Josh: largely that Cmd-Tab switching to an open application will not switch to a Space with an open window. Basically anything that would automatically switch you to a different space will be disabled.

Seems like a good idea, except it doesn't work. I had to change "name" to "displayed name" in refreshWindowedProcess() to keep it from asking "where is this application", but even then it doesn't seem to ever quit anything.

Firefox has asked if you want to save tabs by default for a while now. What version are you running?

Code page 437 is hardly ASCII. Less so than, say, ISO 8859-1.

comment A free Comic Sans-like font, which isn't Comic Sans?
Just because someone might be interested, a huge number of published comic books are lettered on a computer using fonts developed by Comicraft: comicbookfonts.com They're far from free, though.

Most of those are wireless; most of the remainder are the spazoid pseudo-laptop keyboards; the few beyond that don't claim Mac compatibility.

Yeah, I'd just come across that "boring" one myself. The press release claims Mac compatibility, but nothing else does. If nothing else presents itself, I'll give that one a shot.
