I'm a very, very old computer science and mathematics undergraduate at UC Berkeley. My CV is at ntung.com/cv if you want a brief overview of what I've done.

comment How can I transcode “faster playback speed” videos?
Some mobile players don't have the "2x/3x/4x" playback feature that VLC does normally. I don't think the linked question is the same; ffmpeg is deprecated now too (on Ubuntu at least)

comment How can I best adjust the mouse in Linux for a high-resolution display?
@ThatBrazilianGuy I'm pretty sure it's not just the display. I didn't think of mouse DPI ... I'm just using a Microsoft basic optical mouse. I'll look around, thanks!

@Bobby: sorry, the 'aesthetically' was meant as a qualifier for 'laggy / choppy' ... it just seems behind where I'm actually moving it. I'm using the real driver (G03 via the CUDA repository for OpenSuSE). Things feel better in Windows.

comment How do I select entire words with Tmux's mouse mode?
Sorry, that uses the terminal's selection, not tmux's selection buffer. Nice trick though, thanks -- it seems with kde's konsole you can use that to click on a link with tmux's mouse mode on.

This worked for me, thanks! I had to run this first (opensuse linux): sudo zypper install mozilla-nss-tools

Cool, I did v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video2 --list-formats and then v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video2 --list-framesizes=YUYV. It seems v4l2-ctl has a lot more options too. Thanks very much!
