comment How to generate Asus BIOS rescue password?
Then contact the ASUS people concerning this issue. If it was easy to change and bypass the Master Password, it would not be a very good protection would it?

Your use is improper and unsupported. Thus your problems.

You have to change the static device then to properly match the netmask in use.

Based on this and your previous question, I think that either you might want to call in a network person or read a little bit more about IPV4 networking construction.

comment HP Bluetooth mouse works in OSX on Macbook but not in Windows 8.1 (Boot Camp)
Just for curiousity, is a Macbook pro on the HCL for windows 8.1? Also, suggest you get the latest drivers which may work and of course ensure you are up-to-date on your patches.

comment Share internal hdd through usb
You don't mention the OS, distribution, and version number of the PC. If Linux, a SAMBA setup is possible as well as NFS but not a direct attachment since this would cause near immediate data corruption.

comment Does the Windows 98 OS/shell use the CPU to write to the framebuffer/display?
Geeze....are there any supported drivers for something this old, unsupported and most likely a security risk waiting to happen?

comment Diagnosing random, temporary computer “pauses”
Well, I had done similar scans showing my system disk was OK until the disk died a horrible death. The pauses and delays were just driving me nuts as I could not determine the cause.

comment Windows 8 will not restart if your Registry Hives are larger than 2GB. Why?
Looks like they might still be using 32-bit support apps for the registry thus the limit.

comment Why is Windows Explorer not updating when I do things?
You can do a view-->refresh. I'm not sure you are going to be able to change this behavior unless you lobby M$ pretty heavily.

comment Upgrading from Fedora 17 to Fedora 20 (or higher)
I actually believe this is an answer....it is not going to be effective and you are better off doing a fresh install. Also be aware that upgrades between such disparate releases are generally not supported.
