comment How to safely store passwords to access several servers?
So "password safe" has the features of keepass, which isn't what he's looking for. Yubikey looks interesting but looks like it means many users buying that hardware -special usb stick thing- I suppose the password is stored encrypted on that. You said "I don't see why your storage would not work across the Internet." I don't understand that question. How are you making your storage accessible over the internet? And he may not need people logging in over the internet.

comment BIOS error - attempting to boot
you said it gets to the BIOS.. can you show the BIOS? Is the BIOS detecting the hard drive? you can press pause/break to pause the screen so you do'nt need to snapshot a video.

comment Cannot view dates of emails(no date field), in my CSV file exported from MS Outlook
your sentence saying "Date is not an exportable field in Outlook" Is not really a true statement, it's only true of CSV. I have tried it with "pst" and read it in outlook, and it has the dates.

comment How can I send a packet around the circumference of the globe?
40,075.16 km rounded is 40,075. Also, i'd add, as we're talking the circumference at the equator, he should be on the equator if doing the test in practice, when doing the test, so his starting point and ending point is en route.

Also i'm not talking of checking a header in the packet to see the route, of course it isn't there. I'm talking of checking logs of the proxies.

of course and my point is that if the proxies are near each other (to use an extreme example, suppose they're 3 degrees away from each other on the globe), then it's very unlikely that the optimal route is going to be 357 degrees across the globe. To determine the optimal route, distance is a consideration. When the distance is so significantly shorter in one route than another, then the longer route would have to have some super duper tech and the short route some terrible tech, for the longer distance route to be optimal.

He could get hold of proxies perhaps, and chain them together somehow, and check their logs. Each proxy, say, 40 degrees around the globe from the next, so make it most likely that it'll take the short distance route.

the problem is,whether packet switching(where each packet goes a different route you can't determine beforehand),or(virtual or not) circuit switching(which is used for phone calls, where one route is established then all data flows down that route). If data has2go 360 degrees,or 350 degrees, then it's probably going to go 10 degrees instead.Perhaps if you can chain proxies together, and each each proxy is say no more than, say, degrees around the globe from the next, then likely perhaps it'll go from one to the next in a circle around the globe. But to test that you'd have to check all your proxies

comment USB File Transfer Log
Doesn't look like it. I just tried (from SU question How can I display the time stamp of a file with seconds, from the command line?)) Get-ChildItem akf.txt -Force | Select-Object FullName, CreationTime, LastAccessTime, LastWriteTime That shows all of that file's time. Then I copied the file as akf2 and ran that command on akf2.txt. Looking at the source file, the access time didn't change to the creation and access time of the copied file.Another thing I looked at is the archive bit(which can b turned off from a copy) but that happens with cmd's xcopy /m not with windows gui copy or cmd copy

comment Cannot view dates of emails(no date field), in my CSV file exported from MS Outlook
thanks, i'll try that, i'm generating a pst file at the moment from outlook(started before you posted your answer), it's taking a long while and seems to be much bigger. like the csv was about 76MB and this is 1.5GB so far. I'll give ms access a try once the pst is done. The ultimate destination i'm going to then try, is to gmail. I had tried directly, yahoo mail to gmail via pop(an old yahoo account that supports pop), but gmail only took or copied a month's worth of email like 600 emails or so. Outlook managed to copy the lot from yahoo via pop.
