The part about "more of the OS can be loaded into memory and addressed by the processor more efficiently" is utter garbage. My Win7 uses ca 500MB of RAM, which is plenty below the 4GB limit that 32-bit CPUs are limited to. Addressing, if anything, is less efficient, as pointers are double the size in memory, and use up more of the valuable data cache. The real performance gain comes from larger register set; operating on data in L1 cache is 3 clock cycles, operating on data in a register is 1 clock cycle.
