@sawdust the subnets are not a problem. did i mention subnets? all i want is to have the AP to connect as a client to a wifi network.

comment Desmistifiying SATA hotplug
right. the staggered ground pin like USB. yeah. the proper sata connector also has 3V besides 12V and 5V. it's the optional orange cable. Now, there is also zero information on which drivers require the orange cable :/ i don't think any manufacturer make use of it because cheap PSU won't provide it and there are people using molex->sata (like i do with 2 drives i run out of native cables)

@MichaelKjörling i had found that before. you can see how the specs are extremely cryptic and how the accepted answers ends up saying that the "capability is the responsibility of the system designer, and they should ensure the drive is stopped before hot removal occurs. You, in this case, are the system designer." which is not a conclusive answer at all :)

> "have to enable it on a port-by-port basis. Don't just expect it to magically work, though." @Shinrai so, after i enable, it will not magically work? what is required after enabling on the BIOS?

comment gnome3 annoyances: how to fix un-resizeable windows?
facepalm-moment: Was going to send a patch for this setting to gnome-tweak-tool, and as soon as i grep'ed the code, of course, it was already there... embarassing. i completely missed it. it is under windows > attached modal dialogs ...still can't resize anything though.

thanks! for some reason i can't resize most of the windows after this. might be changes in the application as well. but it is a relieve to be able to move them at least

comment How can I merge the gnome clipboard and the X selection?
I think the problem is exactly because you tried to join them. now you are probably overwritting the ctrl+c one with selections. If you force yourself to use only Ctrl+c/Ctrl+v, then you can either ignore selection/middle+click or use it as an isolated, alternative one. Just never use selection/middle+click (or shift+ins). stick with ctrl+c/ctrl+v and you don't have the problem
