Every day is a school day!
For some reason this question (from Oct 2010) has more recently been deleted but was still available on stackprinter.com. I had the accepted answer and was looking high and low for it to use as reference on another question.

Chrome doesn't load pages, unless I kill it's process I've found it can take a while (a minute or two) for some Chrome processes to finally close after closing the application itself. Also, do you have "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" checked in advanced settings? |

Display Text File On Desktop I'm curious as to the advantage of showing directly on the desktop, rather than perhaps in its own window (which can be sent to back, forced to front, etc.)? |

How to change preferences in Chrome by modifying files? Although if the sysadmin requires that you need root perms to manage the settings via the GUI then it would be reasonable to assume that you would also need root perms to write to the underlying config files? |

Why does Firefox fetch the page when I hit the back button? If there is JavaScript on the page then this will run when you go back to that page - this could do anything, including communicating with the server (AJAX). This could certainly override the browser cache. |

Automatically hibernate Google Chrome tabs @AndersonGreen: I think you need to do this manually. The video mentions, "simply click the TMT arrow to pop them to 'Suspended Tabs' column, they are saved across sessions. Video and form states aren't saved though.". You then need to "click on a suspended tab to see them restored." |

Using both Adobe Reader and built-in PDF viewer in Google Chrome This does seem like a reasonable solution, however, sending the wrong mime-type for a file feels like a dirty hack. |

Can I disable Google Chrome Autofill ONLY for localhost? Although "as a developer", don't you want the same experience on your local test server as you would on the live site? |
