I'm currently a Java programmer. I am doing high-performance server work, Swing client work, and game design. I've developed in multiple languages on multiple platforms. I've worked seriously in the past with PHP, ASP, Unix C/C++, MS SQL Server, and MySQL.

I take a very direct approach to programming. I don't bow to convention simply because it is. Remember that DOS was a standard at one point. Remember that Windows still is a standard. Does it work, yes, I suppose, most of the time it does. I would build it much differently.

comment How Can I Change the Icon on Outlook 2013?
This works for me too. I believe that the reason there is a problem here is because Outlook changes the icon based on mail status. It uses the change in icon to notify the user of new mail, probably among other things. Once I set the icon to something else, this functionality is obviously lost.

comment How Can I Change the Icon on Outlook 2013?
I am able to change the icon for Windows Media Player on my taskbar, but not the one for Lync, Outlook, or Word. This seems to be a problem with Office 2013. Maybe it has something to do with the way the shortcut was created? I notice the "Target" field does not have a valid path in it - it just says "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013".

I found it easy to go into screen resolution and disconnect the given monitor. When the resolution changes, I pick "Revert" and go back the way it was, then cancel out of the window. Easy way to reset the desktop window manager as necessary. Thanks, @280Z28!
