Accessing shared folder asks me credentials I was talking about the network configuration. I really cant remember Windows XP, but in W7 and W8 when you connect to a network for the first time, you choose "Public", "Office" or "Private" (or something like that). This impacts in the sharing behavior. |

Accessing shared folder asks me credentials I would check if the network is set as Public, Home or Office in each computer. |

Extensive use of HDD after VmWare Player virtual machine is closed I have a similar problem with a i3 2100 + 8 GB Ram Windows computer using WMWare Player runing OSX Lion with 2Gb RAM. My system does not hangs, but gets very slow for about 7-10 minutes after sleeping the VMWare Machine. The performance application shows the VMWare image written to the disk by the System process. Yes, this is too slow compared with other disk operations.... |

scheduled script much more slow than running manually Thanks!, this was a step in the correct direction. What I did was export the task to XML. modify the Priority to 4 (normal) and then import the new task. More info here:bdbits.wordpress.com/2010/04/29/… |

Dell laptop keeps detecting a Virtual Generic Non-PnP Display Device I have a very similar problema with my desktop I "solved" disabling the second device. In my case I'm pretty sure it's a video card hardware malfunction. |

Preventing applications from stealing focus The moderator merged this question: superuser.com/questions/199821/… with the current one. This is wrong, the answer to the current question does not apply to windows 7, so it shouldnt be merged. So far I could not find a solution to this problem in Windows 7 |

Windows 7 can not delete a file - file in use MonsterMMORPG, you dont want to kill Explorer, you dont want to use Unlocker, you dont want to use the cmd shell... I think unlocker is the way to go, it's and EXCELLENT utility |

Assign a public static IP address to a router g19fanatic: its seems computer world is pretty new for you, so I'll explain this to you. If you want to use the external router IP address for your computer, the THE WAY TO GO is using DMZ. Also, you should think if the firewalls have a DMZ feature, theres is probably a reason... You can enable DMZ safely if you have a firewall in your computer, what you should have instead of relying in the router firewall. At least I answered the question, what Linker3000 did not. You neither, obviously. |
