comment gnome-do: How to make 'open' the default action for PDF files?
I've been trying this for a while and it does not seem to be having the effect you describe. The only difference is that the gnome-do screen remains after execution if I use shift-enter. Is this documented somewhere?

comment Is there a semantic (WYSIWYM) text editor application for Linux?
Thanks! All your suggestions very much welcome by me, but probably not so much by others in the office (who I want the software for) who are often perturbed by things like mono-space fonts or multiple open windows :) I'm downloading LyX though (and the 438Mb of packages it wants!). We'll see how it goes.

The question states that autorun is already disabled for all our computers. The subject of the question is a preventative measure that resides on the drives themselves.

comment “nice” for Networking
These are not the analog of nice (though they are very useful!). nice defines a priority, not a limit. An analog of nice would give a process unlimited bandwidth if no other process wanted it.

That is brilliant, thank you! A cursory test (excuse the pun) seems to suggest that it is retaining column position too.

One of them also appears to be written in Lisp (hint: search for 11 consecutive closing brackets).

I don't know... many of the examples are kinda deformed and disturbing - especially if you like cats.
