comment How can I use an old PATA hard disk drive on my newer SATA-only computer?
Why are you answering a more than six year old question which had already 8 answers, one from OP himself, which solved his problem?

comment Can't install (most recent version of) Internet Explorer
@BigChris - the sfc seemed to be sufficient: "found corrupt files and successfully repaired them". IE works again. Thanks a bunch. If you make an answer from your comment I can upvote and accept it.

@K.A - That's it! I thought I had checked each of the 10000 options. Thanks a bunch. If you make it an answer I'll accept it.

comment How can I change my NAS SSID and wireless password?
Thanks, but these I already found. I'm a bit afraid that my question has nothing to do with DSM at all ("that has to be done at the wireless access point or router"). Thanks anyway.

comment For missing (.dll) files
You deliberately hide useful information: the "*.dll" instead of the actual filename. Why? Don't you want help?

If you need to place a 5 page text into a cell you're using the wrong tool.

comment How can I increase Excel's graph axis area?
Better yet, resizing the chart area fixed the axis, thanks! (There are ten settings for silly options like "shadow, glow and soft edges", but none for essentials like resizing. Typically Microsoft, shall we say? Also, why show resizing handles that don't work?)

@lupincho - I tried that, but the NoScript button didn't show in the collection to choose from. Thanks anyway.

comment Noscript button missing in Firefox
@Nam - I'm not sure about that. The add-ons manager says NoScript is enabled, so I presume it will be that that blocks the scripts. It's just not visible. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Thanks for your reactions anyway.

Neither of these let you run Windows 7's calculator on an XP machine, as OP asked.

comment XP and Windows 7 PCs no longer on speaking terms
@HaydnWVN - They have different names. They're on the same subnet (192.168.1.*), and have the same subnet mask (255.255.255.0). I have folders shared with "full control" to "everyone", but that's of little use if the other PC doesn't show on the network in the first place :-(. I might have thought there's something basic missing, but it did work after installation, and I didn't change any of the network settings. Thanks for your thoughts.
