That's "Steven" (with the "n" at the end)

comment Mean Time to Failure (MTTF): When disk manufacturers post this, how should you interpret their numbers?
@Kaitlyn - I guess you're referring to bad sectors. I'd say a disk failure is when you can't read from or write to the drive any longer. Usually a mechanical error, like a head crash. This usually happens when you still have plenty of good sectors left.

About quality and resolution: quality is mostly dependent on the lens quality. I learned this when I was used to working with good quality lenses on a 35mm camera, and switched to Hasselblad. Wow! The kind of detail that gives you! And no, that's not just because it has a higher resolution. It's the lens. Never used my 3K worth of 35mm gear anymore.

Gee Russell, I still always find your answers so difficult to read! Have you ever tried to create real hyperlinks? It's as simple as link text between square brackets, followed by link in parentheses. Readability will be much better.

Why do you say "in set of pairs"? That would be typical of text coding, but this doesn't look like it - not ASCII anyway.

Accepted as answer for the vital clue "motherboard driven". I changed the behavior to "do nothing" and the delayed shut-down is back. Thanks a million!

Thanks for the suggestions, but not necessary, as you can read in the edit of the original question.

Stopped working after a reboot. I mentioned it to indicate that Firefox was properly set up (as was IE8)

this seems only to allow you to add some of Windows' Special Folders, no user folders.

no, it won't, since properties are referenced to the viewport size, not the image's dimension.

comment Firefox is changing file extensions on downloads
@Wil: you're not really answering Robert's question. The .reg.txt example indicates that this is a Firefox problem, at least has nothing to do with ZIP.

comment associate extension with app (Windows XP)
Fixed! Thanks a lot. Notepad++ also shows up in the selection list, so I can now add associations the Windows way. Since I don't know what causes the problem in the first place, it might pop up again with other apps, though.
