comment How to block a particular pop-up window from opening?
Thanks, more aggressive than the other solution, but seem to be doing the job. Requires tweaking on-the-fly to unblock leggit page components.

Thanks. Seems to work after some tweaking. let's see if it stands the test of time, and if it does not "overdo" its job.

@TheEnvironmentalist - Ah! "Continents covered in computers"... isn't it what "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" all about? ;-)

comment What are the Windows A: and B: drives used for?
@echolab - it is hard to tell exactly, but it looks to me more like a spreadsheet than a drafting/design software. Or, is it that Amstrad had a spreadsheet named "Autocad"?

comment Can't run Vimdiff (7.4) on Windows 7
Well, the startup screen and :intro show me the same info (that is, just "7.4"). :version shows "7.4" and elaborates on the compilation time. No patch version number. Your 2nd comment may explain why it is so. It is compiled by mool(at)tororo, which I assume refers to Mr. Moolner.

BTW - how can you tell the # of the sub-version (e.g. 7.4.103)?

comment Can I use a DLNA BluRay player as an external BD drive for my Windows 7 laptop?
@Ramhound - Using VLC 2.0.5, I turned on the BD Player (Samsung F5700, w/ DLNA), had a BD movie in and opened the UPnP tab in VLC. I see my laptop in the list, but no sign for the player. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

There are several USB tuners in the market. For example, google.com/…

Thanks. This is not practical, as the computer is on a different floor, which is why I mentioned the network medium. For over-the-air broadcast, there are USB based dongles that let you receive using your Windows machine.

@Ramhound - ok, by "full" I did not mean "elaborate", but an "answer" rather than a "comment". Thanks for the links.

@Ramhound - BTW, why won't you make this a full answer, so I can rep you (and accept, once I check it)?

Thanks. I will try this out. Does Windows Media Player have this capability (I have no particular problem using VLC, though, just curious)?

@Ramhound - A-ha; so this means that the player needs to be DLNA-server capable, or is this just implied for any such BD player, that can bridge between a PC and a TV?
