comment How to block a particular pop-up window from opening?
Out of respect to you answering my question, I will not reply to your last comment. If my intentions were not clear with what said so far, then probably nothing more I'll say won't change it. Thanks again for your help.

So I wanted to test this thing. Defiend a new group :aug my_test_group. Then, defined an autocmd: au my_test_group FileChangedShell * confirm("TEST","&Y\n&N",2,"W"). Changed the buffered file externally. When returned focus to gVim, I get an error: E492: Not an editor command: confirm(.... I cannot run the confirm() command from the : command prompt either.

Thanks. Vim is just amazing. Every time a semi-advanced question is answered, it opens a Pandora's box... Looking at the suggested help page, there seems to be a whole new world of those events...

I don't understand why you insist on that. I am not accepting an answer until I think it actually answered my question. As I wrote, I am still evaluating the suggested solutions. did upvote the two answers to show that they both work (for now, at least).

I am currently using the NoScript. It has its annoyances, but I am slowly learning to live with it. Then, I'll get back to the add-on one. This will take time, and if I come to a definitive conclusion that one of them remains on my browser, I'll select the answer. Be patient. Thanks.

Thanks, more aggressive than the other solution, but seem to be doing the job. Requires tweaking on-the-fly to unblock leggit page components.

Thanks. Seems to work after some tweaking. let's see if it stands the test of time, and if it does not "overdo" its job.

@TheEnvironmentalist - Ah! "Continents covered in computers"... isn't it what "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" all about? ;-)

comment What are the Windows A: and B: drives used for?
@echolab - it is hard to tell exactly, but it looks to me more like a spreadsheet than a drafting/design software. Or, is it that Amstrad had a spreadsheet named "Autocad"?

comment Can't run Vimdiff (7.4) on Windows 7
Well, the startup screen and :intro show me the same info (that is, just "7.4"). :version shows "7.4" and elaborates on the compilation time. No patch version number. Your 2nd comment may explain why it is so. It is compiled by mool(at)tororo, which I assume refers to Mr. Moolner.

BTW - how can you tell the # of the sub-version (e.g. 7.4.103)?
