comment Vim-CtrlP Is it possible to set ctrlp_cache_dir to project root?
@romainl It's a popular enough plugin, so it seemed like a good idea to ask here, but looking into current issues from this angle I might just take your advice.

comment Is there a cross-*nix compatible way to get file modified timestamp?
grawity, I'm wondering if you could update your script for using the + notation because I'm not sure if the current script will handle spaces correctly with it anymore

Yes osx, at least 10.6, supports -exec + ...and thanks for catching that space bug!

Had to change \t to a space to fit the example, but the rest works great on both systems. Thanks!

comment how to `tail` the latest file in a directory
So the solution above doesn't work on osx due to lack of -printf option in find, but the following works only on osx due to differences in the stat command... maybe it will still help somebody tail -f $(find . -type f -exec stat -f "%m {}" {} \;| sort -n | tail -n 1 | cut -d ' ' -f 2)

comment Where to learn more about OSX terminal app keyboard settings codes?
Thanks - that's pretty much a piece I was looking for. I'm still unable to map <S-F2> to vim though this page shows that shortcut being mapped, but now I there's a direction to go on.

@Daniel The ANSI lising here for example states that a code for F6 key is 64 and in the prefs pane it shows up as 17. As far as what it's supposed to do? I want to map the combination in vim to something useful but my terminal isn't reacting to shift-F1

the point is to be able to script these things without complicated parsing, curl is fine but so far i haven't been able to collect decent options for that either

I should've specified that this needs to be automatic

Nice, thanks for helping a newbie out... I wish I could accept both of your answers. Still I wish I didn't have to run the Disk Util...

I think you are definitely right about the issue, I just can't find the specific content that's lacking permission

Thanks for your reply, but I've gone through the ~/VirtualBox VMs folder and changed permissions to 777 for all files and folders there to no change
