comment How can I find out images used in a Windows tool without having its source code?
The images may be hardcoded in the sources, in that case, there may be no better way to get them instead of taking screenshots.

comment Boot Windows XP installation from CD
Does any of the laptops have an option of selecting the boot device manually (not in the bios, but during the bios sequence)? Often there is a menu for manual selection that you can open by pressing "F12" during the bios start sequence.

comment Would it be possible to create an SSH tunnel through a mobile phone call?
To make that clear, what I wanted to say is, that you bandwidth would be very low (a bit below GSM or whatever connection you use), which is not very much in any case. The ping time would hardly depend on your location. If you only want to send some text somewhere, there will be a better way using you regular phone features and for anything else, it would not be very satisfying I guess. What do you want to use that for?

comment Built-in camera and mic don't work after upgrading to Windows 7
It seems they are not there? This would mean that your upgrade completely deactivatet the hardware, which is near to impossible. Check the device manager again, the devices may have strange names or be in the wrong category. You can also try to install the drivers anyway.

If the DVI port works fine, then there is no problem with your video card itself, maybe the VGA port got damaged.
