But setting it to Disabled allows my USB devices to work normally, so it doesn't disable the ports entirely.

You don't happen to be talking about a Zenbook do you? Either way I think the answer might be that the acpi driver does not support those keys yet, either that or we're not using the right one.

What do you mean by "broken"? Presumably unusable sectors? Could the hardware/OS/drivers not be wear levelling properly? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wear_leveling What make/model of drives are they?

For me it displays, my -r option is to get the last modification date of a file. 72951500 nano seconds is 0.072951500 seconds, so you can just add them on, either before or after calling date.
