comment How to copy symbolic links?
You might need to add -R, because otherwise cp will skip directories and symlinks to directories.

comment Override Samba directory permissions
For me, 0777 works for Mac clients but not for Windows clients (good thing it’s a SERVER setting). If I set security = share, then 0777 works for Windows clients, but Mac clients cannot connect anymore. It must be a bug in Samba.

comment Setting up tab-completion of paths in bash or zsh to resemble tcsh
It's exactly that, thanks a lot. In the meantime I also found out about oh-my-zsh, started tweaking my prompt and looking for an alternative to Apple's Terminal that supports customisation of the colours. It's gonna be fun! :)

comment Setting up tab-completion of paths in bash or zsh to resemble tcsh
Hence my asking, because me not finding a way to do something does not necessarily mean that it cannot be done. :) Like the rec_exact option suggested below for zsh: it does exactly what I want, but I don't remember it popping up in my searches, and even if it did, I'm not sure I'd have understood that it was what I was looking for.

I can’t help but think that this comment is both condescending and suggesting that I adapt to how bash works. Please correct me if I’m wrong, I’d love to.
