comment Sharing hardware resources through network: specifically RAM
@Tonny Think it's one of those "your mileage may vary" scenarios. I've personally found that it sped up slower computers, and made little difference with fast computers. Never experienced it slow down a computer. Obviously there's no substitute for a ton of RAM and SSD disks, but if you can't / won't go for that and have uncrowded USB buses going spare then it might help

comment Sharing hardware resources through network: specifically RAM
@ChrisInEdmonton OK, I've edited my answer to specifically state that it's not possible but was planned at one point rather than only stating it was planned.

comment Can I install windows 10 with a local account?
@Karan Pretty sure it won't. They'll still be collecting data they just won't be able to tie it to your Microsoft Account (which they probably aren't doing anyway, as I doubt anyone at Microsoft has the time to go through millions of users' data to see what they're all typing... although if they are, they're reading this as I'm typing it!)

comment What is amsprd0311.outlook.com?
I know this is an old question, but the abbreviations in the server name are "Amsterdam Production" so that shows where you're connecting to

You want to be careful depending on this feature as it is rapidly running out of life: liveside.net/2014/04/11/…

comment Scanner appears in device manager, but not scanners
Scanner doesn't work on another Windows 8 computer. It does, however, work on the built in Windows XP tools on a third computer, haven't had chance to try a different scanner on the main two computers yet

Try using the Coral Cache version of the links: labs.bittorrent.com.nyud.net/experiments/sync.html and forum.bittorrent.com.nyud.net/topic/…
