comment Windows 10 equivalent to 'explorer.exe'
I'm not at my Win 10 machine, but I believe that I was able to terminate and startup the explorer.exe process. Did you 'expand' task manager to actually show processes instead of the running applications?

comment How can I replace a broken M.2 SSD mounting standoff for my motherboard?
Last comment. According to this wiki the typical standoff has a 6-32 m to f standoff. Assuming that this standoff connected to the standoff below, you'd be looking at the same thing.

Actually I would use this as a guide. My guess is that these aren't proprietary to the ASUS motherboard.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but why not just measure the dimensions of the original and purchase something similar?

Do as you see fit. Just understand that I probably won't be the only one to edit your posts as they come through.

comment How do I Install Windows 8 or 10 on Surface Pro while Ubuntu is already installed?
Interestingly enough I had a hard time booting from USB when Windows 8 was already installed on my Surface Pro 2. I eventually ended up installing Windows 10 on top of the Windows 8 install.

With the amount of posts that come through here, I can't take the time to ask individually each one how they want their posts formatted. Since you've been a user for 5 years now, and a supposed Microsoft MVP, I find it interesting that you don't know how to use any other editor than Word and are unwilling to learn another. Again, if you would like to roll back the edit feel free to do so. If you would like to learn how to use the editor then use this.

comment Why is Microsoft Excel 2010 Showing a file open by another user when it isn't?
You are going to need to provide a little more detail on this. For example, what user is the supposed workbook opened to?

If you want to roll back the changes feel free to do so. However a word of caution, the formatting was a bit difficult to read. I didn't change any information of your answer. Simply made it slightly more readable. My other comments/questions are simply there to help you answer questions here. Take them as you see fit.

@Dims downvoting does not necessarily lead to deletion. Also, voting should be based on correctness not necessary usefulness. Soluto was a correct answer at one time.

instead of a wall of text, I would suggest showing common culprits and then explain how to find ones that are taking up time. A lot of these values are also probably not commonly known. How does one determine what the process name really is and does?

I don't see how we're being so unfair. There are a set of rules in order to ask or answer questions here. We try to uphold the highest of quality while still allowing new content. If something doesn't meet the quality requirements we give it a chance to be edited and improved. I've given you an answer as to why this is closed. I've given you a tool to follow in order to increase the quality of the question. What more do you want/need?

While this is geared toward software recommendations I would recommend reading this post. It'll help you be able to ask questions like this, in a better way.

"Questions seeking product, service, or learning material recommendations are off-topic because they become outdated quickly and attract opinion-based answers. Instead, describe your situation and the specific problem you're trying to solve. This is why it was closed and will remain closed.

comment Does the Edge web-browser by Microsoft run on multiple platforms (i.e. Linux, Mac, Windows)?
My understanding is that eventually Spartan will have backwards compatibility for IE specific sites/intranets.
