comment Bricked my Ubuntu server can no longer start nor login anymore
agree with all above - chown should NOT have traversed any type of symlinks per your script. Only other explanation is either you traversed / root by accident per @Hennes / emi ^ or you have data corruption. Either way you need either help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCdRecovery or possibly full reinstall help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuReinstallation (you now have option to reinstall as well as upgrade contrary to images) just use same disk you used to install originally. Lot's of info out there already on these subjects..

Everything done in that script seems locked to the $ocpath path - sudoer and system files are in /etc. I do not see how this script could update that file. You may have data corruption? Try a Ubuntu live cd and check with fsck?

comment Is my hard drive dead?
Sounds like you could try windows repair although not sure how you do this under Windows 10. Your boot record seems to be intact. But yes the evidence points to bad hard drive/sectors from what you said. If it were me I would pull HD out and connect to another computer. See if you can get your files that way (then follow that by testing HD with test utility) and then reinstall Windows fresh to new hard-drive if you found lots of bad records/sectors during testing.

^ "I have created a batch file.." -> Yes it will open cmd to execute the batch file. Try this- open cmd/console. run the batch file manually. does it start your exe? If not something isn't right in batch file.

My feeling is the exe (since it's console only) needs to execute CMD and TS has issue with that. you could also try adding to TS using your exe as a parameter to cmd. = "cmd c:\path\your.exe"

comment How to boot .iso image?
That wasn't what I thought he meant - I understood him to mean he DOES NOT WANT TO USE USB. Read the quote above. I also added a link to a usb boot loader (in my answer) for iso mounting on fly in case he wanted it.. Maybe if he would clean up his question we could get somewhere.

comment How do I copy files into `/var/www` with WinSCP?
slight correction for exactness - sudo chmod 777 /var/www - sudo usermod -G www-data (username) - sudo chmod 770 /var/www - It may work depending on who you are in your example, but 'sudo' should work no matter who you are (assuming your login is in /etc/sudoers for root/admin of course).
