comment Cut part from video file from start position to end position with FFmpeg
Anyway there should be a reason that cutting videos with this method result in 1-2 seconds of freeze or gibberish at the beginning of the video. At least for video encoded with H.264 codec in an MKV container.

ffmpeg won't cut only at I-frames at least the latest git version doesn't do that if you specify -ss as an output option, and the copy codec won't reencode anything. Only simple workaround so far is reencoding the whole thing. The less simple is cutting the video at a key frame and reencode only the GOP you cut in half, that's more complex to do but possible. I needed a frame accurate way to cut the video with minimal encoding.

Although this works, it isn't accurate, because the copy codec won't make a key frame at the beginning. So the video may start with gibberish.

mkvmerge can also split the video at key frames.

comment How to recover form information for a webpage in Firefox
@NicolasBarbulesco I don't know, try it, then tell the developer if it doesn't work. I suppose it works for input and textarea fields only, and form postdata. The primary reason I downloaded it because many stupid forums simply log you out if you are writing a post for too long, eating your whole writing...

comment How to configure old Windows clients to use NTLMv2 when connecting to a Windows 7 network share?
@techie007 But even on XP I can set that "accept NTLMv2 only" preference (because it's available since SP2 AFAIK). So I assume that XP knows NTLMv2, still it cannot connect to the Win7 share.

They also deprecated it. So does this mean in a future release non-windows users won't be able to authenticate to the intranet at all on Firefox?
