comment How to add the Em dash “—” to my keyboard?
It's clear what you want. But you're also writing "I can map all the keys I want to the Ergodox, and macros as well". What are those macros? That makes me think you can assign sequences of instructions to a single key. (And if true, then I wonder why it's so hard to create a macro that "writes" the Em dash.)

comment Two very similar lines of sed, can they be combined?
Just curious: what generated those weird bolded/padded brackets 【】? (LEFT BLACK LENTICULAR BRACKET and RIGHT BLACK LENTICULAR BRACKET.)

What is that "macro" you're referring too? Can you "program" keys with some sort of programming language?

Added specific Alt code, so readers know that's known.

Ah, indeed Alt 0151 is documented on both links I gave too; some Windows character set value rather than a Unicode value, I guess. Note that the Alt +8212 "syntax" often means you're typing hexadecimal Unicode codes, where you're indeed really pressing the + as well. Not sure what you were typing for the first tries exactly.

2014 is the hexadecimal code; 8212 is the decimal code you need for the Alt-Numpad trick. See the Wikipedia article for details.

According to rishida.net/tools/conversion you're referring to the Em dash, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dash#Common_dashes and fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/2014

comment Downgrading Windows 8 from Enterprise to Pro
Someone commented in a (now deleted?) answer: "worked for me when changing from windows 8.1 enterprise to 8.1 Pro [...] the only notable differences after it booted back up - it said professional rather than enterprise in the windows properties window and I could now install windows media center"

comment What does @ mean at the end of filenames in auto complete in OS X?
Nice, Sherlock! Still, I've never seen the @ appended in the output of (Tab) auto completion, but it seems your last paragraph surely explains the error the question asker sees.

I don't think your title summarized your specific question; in general it would be a duplicate of What does the @ mean on the output of “ls” on OS X' terminal? and many others. But in this specific case I'm not sure, as it's shown by autocomplete.
