I prefer usually challenging questions, while I may spend some time on easier ones trying to explain something that used to be difficult for me.

My preference goes to algorithms, and C, a language that I've liked and known for a long time, while I like also to visit server fault and its many interesting and challenging system, DB, nginx, ... questions and answers.

Linux has been my working environment for almost 10 years. And a (few) Mac for leisure.

comment Secure video chat program as an alternative to Skype
I had a hard time trying to get jitsi (1.0.1) working, and finally gave up after numerous and repeated errors (without a single hint about the reason). Maybe a newer version will work better?

comment How to chmod 755 all directories but no file (recursively)?
But how does your command answer the OP's question: set different ACL depending on file / dir? Your command will set ACL regardless if it's a dir or a file

comment WiFi: Does disabling SSID broadcast saves battery(ies)?
+1 Good points. Unfortunately there is no way to reduce the wifi output (since usually the iphone is close to the server, that would help). Hopefully someone will come up with some no SSID broadcast / battery experience?

comment Computer won't start unless power is removed for ~5 minutes
The MB battery maybe be low enough to cause unstable results, while still able to keep the clock running. Honestly I'm not sure, but a low battery can have various effects... Two years is usually the period from which the battery may die. It is very cheap - I wouldn't bother to change it and try.

comment Will the linux “shutdown” command allow a parameter to determine the pause between sending SIGTERM and SIGKILL?
The SIGTERM is not a warning! shutdown sends first a warning text message saying that the host is going down in x minutes, then it issues a SIGTERM, and then after a couple of seconds X, it issues the fatal SIGKILL. The OP, as far I understand his needs, wants to control the X value. This is not what would do the deprecated -t option.

comment Will the linux “shutdown” command allow a parameter to determine the pause between sending SIGTERM and SIGKILL?
Is this what wants the OP? A delay between the warning and the actual shutdown? Or a delay between SIGTERM (ask gracefully the processes to terminate) and SIGKILL (kill processes immediately)?

comment Why window.history.go() doesn't work from some pages?
"It doesn't work" means that the browser tab doesn't move at all. The bookmarklet has not effect. Changing the go(x) with x==-1 doesn't have any effect either - while the history.length is 10. Maybe a Firefox pb...

Alt-right-click opens the right click menu... that allows a resize! Too bad you didn't post an answer :-)

It gives me the correct number (was 19 for Google news, which does a refresh via href=... [see above]). Tried to check window.onunload and body.onunload they're all undefined.
