What to say, what to say... I'm currently attempting to either work out which of two senses of self I have is a delusion of the other, or to reconcile them. It's not easy.

Reason for downvote: answers another question.

comment How does one make Evolution work with Exchange 2010?
@BrianKnoblauch This comment for future reference of anyone encountering this question only: Apt also auto-resolves dependencies, but there was a bug whereby Ubuntu's evolution-ews wasn't marked as having a dependency on python-samba but did have such a dependency in actuality. I believe it's now been resolved.

comment How to upgrade an old Linux box with this hardware configuration?
It should also be noted that capacity itself can affect speed, depending how it's added. Increasing the number of platters in the drive won't help much, but the increased data density needed for a larger capacity on the same number of platters makes each revolution "worth" more data, so that it can operate at the same angular speed but still have faster transfer rates.

comment How to open a program on particular desktop?
@Vi. With gnome-terminal, at least, one can give devilspie something to grab onto with the gnome-terminal option --window-with-role.

comment Continious mirroring of the whole notebook hard drive into a file on the exernal usb hard drive in Ubuntu Linux
Not actually what Errandir asked for (they want to use an image file for the mirror, or at least, that's how I read it), but likely to be a better solution.

comment Is there a windows clipboard manager that can switch the contents of the clipboard upon pasting?
@MarcusChan That's my reading of the question, too, if it helps. Though the thing replaced need not be a word, of course.

comment Outlook 2013 and GMail: I want outlook delete action to archive not trash
Outlook may be trying to be too clever, moving messages to the trash folder rather than merely marking it deleted. Not sure what to do about it if that's the case...

comment How to assign multiple IP addresses to a single computer?
Basically? One can't. IP addresses are assigned by a DHCP server outside of the user's control, and granted based on hardware addresses. The only way would be to add extra wireless interfaces (wi-fi cards, USB dongles, &c), and run different addresses on each one.

comment Mac Pro was working fine. Formatted the hard drives and now the monitor can't get a picture
Which is to say: Yes. The bootloader's screwed up. Specifically, it's gone. Just like the copy of OSX that was there before. That's what happens when one zeroes out the hard drives. Reinstall OSX.

comment evince not opening PDF files
@chaohuang Yeah, I saw it just after I posted the comment. Deleted the comment because it was redundant. That output looks pretty much like what I'd expect executing evince as root when someone else has the only active graphical login (root doesn't have a GNOME session running, and that's what most of the messages are). Has the output when trying to run evince from the terminal as thy own user changed since killing the old instances?

comment How do I tell if a laptop has a TPM without buying it first
Quite. It's far from optimal. However, it's quite likely to be the only option in most cases.

There's always contacting the retailer and asking them straight out...

comment How can I tell whether a Mac can already boot Windows?
Remember the folder to which thou goest when thou wantest an app that's not currently in thy dock? Pull that up, and open the Utilities subfolder. Boot Camp Assistant will either be present or absent. Proceed as appropriate.

Have a look at =indirect - at a guess, it might be possible to get what th'art asking for by using it to refer to a cell whose reference is determined using an arbitrary formula.

comment What shredding utility can I use?
@ssice Nono, not at all. I thought there had been a downvote, and it looked like I had done it, and I wanted to clarify that I didn't. If an apology is needed, it should be from me.

@ssice Which is, in fact, why I didn't.

comment What shredding utility can I use?
It's got no advantage over shred, though (both will deplete the entropy pool to some extent, this being the downside of random writes), and it's rather a lot more to type.

@Paul right, yes, I do apologise; I got distracted and commented on the question when I meant to comment on Xavierjazz's answer.

@Paul or, indeed, to one of Annjay's own Dropbox folders rather than one shared with them.
