comment How do I add, edit or manage custom search engines in Opera 15 or higher versions (Chromium-based)?
Of course the path will be different in each version, but for comparison I found it here, for Opera 27: C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\27.0.1689.54\resources\default_partner_content.json.

comment Are computers with more RAM potentially faster if not all memory is usually in use?
So what would happen if this computer, under this load, got another 8 GB added? I suspect "nothing," but I also suspect that a user with a heavier load or longer uptime will have much more cached.

comment How do I connect to an MS SQL instance on AWS?
Attempting to connect using the IP address and creds of the RDP instance did not work either: "...server was not found...network path was not found."

comment How do I connect to an MS SQL instance on AWS?
I haven't been able to get RDP to work yet, with which to check that kind of detail, though AWS trumpets its convenient out-of-the-box configuration. I've spent hours going in circles through the AWS console trying to find ways to config this (and, per your suggestion, listening ports), without success.

comment How do I connect to an MS SQL instance on AWS?
Leaving out the port from the server name in Mgt Studio (1433 is the default, after all), I get "...network-related error...network path was not found". My machine can resolve the instance path, so there's that, but pings are not returned.

comment How do I connect to an MS SQL instance on AWS?
Small update: based on docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/…, I tried connecting to the instance endpoint (mydbname.subdomain.region.rds.amazonaws.com) with the port separated by a comma instead of a colon. This gives "...network-related error...attempt failed because the connected party did not respond..."

comment Cannot connect to AWS EC2 instance from Windows 7 using RDP
I'm confused. Why would your Win 7 machine need to host anything? You are trying to reach the AWS server from two different clients, one of which works, right?
