revised Software for taking handwritten notes
Added windows-7 tag so it's obvious what OS it refers to before reading the question

comment See available wireless access points in the terminal?
In that case you'll have to install the wireless-tools package, which I think requires the command sudo yast2 --install wireless-tools . However, it's been a few years since I last used opensuse so I may have got the syntax wrong.

comment What NAS setup for two-way syncing over the internet?
The spliting the HDD into different sections is what I do, although it's all on the same partition. /home/phil from NAS 1 gets copied to /home/backup/phil on NAS2, and then /home/dad from NAS2 gets copied to /home/backup/dad on NAS1. The stuff in /home/backup limited to read only via the samba share. Then a cronjob runs each night to sync changes, which can be setup to email if it fails.

comment Win XP cannot connect (or see) my wifi network, but can see others
I helped a friend who had a basically identical problem earlier today except with vista. It had worked fine yesterday, but this morning had exactly the same problem. The friend had also tried connecting via a wired network but that failed because the laptop was set to use a static IP, I changed that to DHCP to fix the wired connection. Then I rechecked the wifi link and discovered that it was working. Sorry not to be more help.

comment Audio cable “joiner”?
Quite a few digital pianos have line ins on them so plugging the mp3 player into that might be a solution if your particular piano has it.
