@edusysadmin I don't think that is it. I think the process went something like this: System goes to idle and task is triggered. 3 hours later, system comes out of idle. 4 hours after that (7 hours after first task trigger) system goes to idle again and the task re-triggers. The OP wants the task to only re-trigger at times >= +12 hours from the most recent trigger.

comment How do I install Skype on a domain computer so that anyone who logs in does NOT have to go through the initial config?
Might this be better off at Server Fault? Please don't cross-post. A moderator will migrate, if appropriate.

comment how to Specify which physical interface the VPN interface should use, Windows7
Even if you manage to do this, the VPN software may still force all data to go through the VPN - disallowing access to any local devices you're networked to. This done to prevent you from slurping data off to unauthorized devices (NAS, printer, etc.) or sharing your VPN link with unauthorized devices.

Don't know why you're suggesting setting up dedicated DHCP servers or VLANs. The desired configuration is easily doable with most SOHO routers. The key is to treat them as what they really are - routers. Don't mess with trying to dumb them down in the least. See my answer for more detail.

Not sure what to tell you, regarding restoration of the old values. I'm fairly certain it can't be done under the circumstances you've described. There are some Registry keys that also hold this information though, so a System Restore may be of help - I'm sure by now that will revert a lot of changes you'd rather not have undone, though.

You're welcome. I'd recommend also trying to determine a root cause for this problem, if you can. It is possible that the PATH variable may have been corrupted by a bad software or update installation, or by user error, but some malware may try to manipulate it as well.
