comment Installing legal older versions of Windows XP
While interesting, this does not answer the question. The question was "How do I get a license", and this is about "how do I handle activation".

The testing images have been updated, and are now available for Hyper-V, Virtual PC, VirtualBox and VMWare. See modern.ie/en-us/virtualization-tools . They are still time-limited - however, you can just roll back to an old state using the VM tools to use them forever.

comment Why is there no /usr/bin/ in windows? Would it be dangerous to the entire Program Files to the path?
How is that relevant to the question? This is the limit for a single file path - no matter whether in the PATH variable or not.

Note that the search box in the start menu (which allows you to find a program by typing its name) was introduced in Windows Vista, so this feature is not new in Windows 8.

comment How to quickly insert large amounts of days into MySQL?
Note that 4000 records is not a "large amount of data". Even a modest database with a slow loading mechanism should be able to load that in a matter of seconds.

comment Do text files store their encoding method for later decoding?
@Tim: Most text viewers use a heuristic to check whether something is a text file. If the file has many non-printable characters, many viewers and editors will warn (e.g. less and grep on Unix/Linux do this).
