Can you provide screenshots so we can see error and maybe the layout of the disk management screen?

comment Wget slow download speed
Are you paying attention to if the "B" in MB is a B or a b? Mb stands for Megabits and MB stands for Megabytes. There are 8 bits in a byte, so it sounds like this may just be a misconception of the two download speeds? I may be totally wrong and you are in fact having an issue with download speed, just thought I would ask.

I assume you have tried rebooting. Sorry for the basic step, just thought I might see that in your response.

comment What is the equivalent of sudo in Windows 7?
This appears to be the closest thing to sudo in Windows. What option do you use as an equivalence to sudo while in Windows? If you look at the previous comments on the answer, you will see where I already addressed a similar opinion.

comment CPU running slower than normal - and hotter
Old thermal compound could definitely be contributing to the issue since the thermal compound is not able to transfer heat as efficiently since it is old thermal compound. I think it is definitely worth a try since it is a cheap troubleshooting attempt. Make sure you clean the processor and heat sink very well with the isopropyl alcohol wipe, then put some fresh thermal compound on it. I prefer to make a small ball in the middle of the processor, put the heat sink on, then remove the heat sink to ensure I put just the right amount on. YouTube it if you haven't done it before just to be sure.

comment What is the maximum resolution supported by a standard DVI-VGA adapter?
I still don't understand which part of my answer is wrong (which you should supply supporting sources), and why you are choosing to bash my answer. If you have an answer that is better than mine, feel free to post it. No need to try to start a conflict.

@JamieHanrahan, thanks for digging this ancient answer up to bash my research. Can you identify your sources on why my research (containing sources) is incorrect? Also, when I was stating overclocking, I was using to a metaphor. I was not stating that overclocking a CPU would give you higher resolution. Another point, I was identifying that VGA is generic, and that there are many forms of it, hence the chart. The WUXGA was also defined in the chart that is part of my answer. 1920X1200 is accomplishable by using WUXGA without the weird software, obviously.. It was part of the chart...

comment Graphics card utility that enables moving image(display) area of the screen to the right
Thank stinks.... Sorry it didn't get you your goal... I have never actually toyed around with that setting, but thought it would work here. Perhaps someone else will have that special tool you need for this. Good luck! Worst case scenario, you would use Gimp (free version of Photoshop), to add the black bars on the sides of the pictures to create a picture that will resolve your problem (wide enough with black bars), but that is not an ideal solution.

@Yoda, I added a new screenshot to my answer to help show you where I am talking about. I know the title bar says "Steam", but that is only because it is licensed through Steam.
