comment Why don't Microsoft show the Windows Product Key in System Information?
Also, the fact that the WinXP Pro license I originally mentioned was initially installed on 3 computers, and I'm sure the license had been used at least 5 times before it failed to reject, which is why I assumed the 5-use policy applied here also. I've never personally seen a delayed activation such as that yet.

comment Why don't Microsoft show the Windows Product Key in System Information?
Trying to activate a copy of Windows XP Professional failed a few months ago, a copy from my parents, when I know the key hasn't been used in a few years. At my work, a subscription to the Microsoft Power Pack came with 2 licenses for WinXP, each of which stated they could be activated up to 5 times, so that's what I'm going off of.

comment How do I totally get rid of Norton Utilities
Just to clarify as a side note, Windows Add/Remove panel (XP, Vista, 7) do nothing but run the uninstaller provided by the software, which is set in the registry. This is Norton purposely leaving behind components, not Windows 7 failing to remove everything.

comment Why has my graphics card disabled my on-board sound card?
The graphics card can output audio as well, since it supports HDMI, thus it needed to install audio drivers. It shouldn't have screwed up your existing audio, my Radeon 4890 had no such issues. You could try redownloading the drivers from nVidia or reinstalling from a Driver CD to see if it helps. If you can see your audio devices in device manager, and they're "Enabled", I'm not sure whats wrong here.

Have you tried reinstalling the audio drivers?

I'd first make sure you're connecting the HDMI correctly by connecting to a TV, where you don't need the conversion.

comment What firmware should I use on my router?
The 3 answers below, AFAIK, are the 3 real choices, and I'd say all 3 are equally good. I had great luck with DD-WRT in getting dead Linksys routers working again.

comment Windows 7: Why is not all my memory usable?
Assuming the chipset allows for 4GB, it usually is a BIOS option to change the amount of memory dedicated to video. Edited that part, since in either case, it really is the chipset deciding this.

comment Windows Vista 32-bit to 7 64-bit Memory Upgrade
It sounds like the real question here isn't "Can I upgrade to 64-bit?" but rather "Is there any reason to?", mostly due to only having 3GB RAM.

comment Good torrent client with file selection needed
uTorrent runs great on mac. As far as requiring 10.5, it's rare to find any new software that works on older versions of the OS. Buying new OS upgrades is almost a requirement on Macs since backwards compatibility breaks more with each update. Irrelevant for this question though, Transmission requires 10.5 as well.

comment Will the newer of these processors be faster?
Usually even more intensive than flash-based games is HD Streaming content. But even my macbook with a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo had trouble with 720p content on Hulu, although I can't see that 720p content exists anymore on there.

comment How do I compare hardware on two machines?
Windows Experience is hardly a fair comparison. For example, most $150+ graphics cards will max out the graphics comparison. Benchmarking tools will give you a much more in-depth look of which one is better.
