comment Alias that allows to edit ~/.bashrc and then “sources” it automatically - Why it doesn't work?
There is no error in ~/.bashrc. I deleted it completely, and put only the one line above. I tried to do the same with emacs: /usr/bin/emacs ~/.bashrc; source ~/.bashrc (no -w here), and it works as expected.

Indeed, Left Ctrl + Left/Right Shift + Up/Down does the trick! (It doesn't work for me with Right Ctrl.)

comment How to omit the “.” directory when creating a tar from directory?
@slotishtype: You are getting closer to my original example :) The question is how to archive a whole directory rather than separate files (and not having the . directory in the resulted tar) ?

comment How to omit the “.” directory when creating a tar from directory?
The problem with your suggestion is that the created tar contains all the directories, i.e. home->misha->path->to->directory->to->backup, rather than just the files themselves. How could I enforce not to create this directory structure ?

comment How to omit the “.” directory when creating a tar from directory?
I'm not interested in making the tar in the current directory. I would like it to be in /home/misha/path/to/tar (and I prefer not to cd to this directory, if possible).

comment How to execute a scheduled task with “schtasks” without opening a new command line window?
I tried to set /u "NT Authority\System" /p "", and got the following error: ERROR: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again... What am I doing wrong ?
