Ever felt annoyed by GUI clutter or unnecessary widgets on this site?

Meet undercurrent. It's a Google Chrome extension that removes some of them.

comment If RAM is cheap, why don't we load everything to RAM and run it from there?
@Hennes - I was thinking more along the lines of briefly stating the differences between volatile and non-volatile RAM or at least mentioning somewhere that your post applies for 'regular' RAM (dynamic volatile) as there are other kinds of it too. It opens up a nice perspective when one understands that SSD-s are not so different from other RAM devices.

RAM loses its contents when powered off. To be exact, only volatile RAM does but non-volatile RAM keeps everything even when powered off, as for example Flash chips. In that sense, SSD is not different from RAM but a subtype of it.

comment How can I prevent Google Chrome update from re-enabling integrated Flash plugin?
Turning off updates is easy but that is not what I am after. It is the habit of Chrome update to unilaterally fiddle with manually modified plugin settings I want to get rid of.

For Netbeans 6.9.1 that's not entirely accurate.

comment How to set the rendering mode of IE8 permanently to IE7?
@DMA57361: So far I am satisfied with the accuracy provided by "Developer Tools" option in IE8. That is reason why I am looking for configuration advice and not something else.

Thanks for the suggestions but I am not looking for a virtual pc solution.

I suppose it depends on the definition of "easier": I'd have to download the thing, install it and run Virtual PC every time I want to look at a webpage. Not to mention the 2GB RAM recommendation of VPC.
