comment Is it possible to allow clients of the same VLAN to see each other even if they connect to different SSIDs with the same name?
Ok, so the standard behaviour is what I expect (and do not get). How would I approach learning exactly what my Buffalo AirStation Pro is doing to my traffic, given that it's too late to monitor that as soon as the traffic leaves the Ethernet ports? Also, if I disable Wireless Client separation and move that function to the router, will the different clients still be able to see each other because the AP will let them before the router can interfere?

comment Scheduled task works on a mapped drive when configured for Windows XP mode, but not for Windows 7
That might be the case, but I want to understand exactly why. Why does it work in XP mode? Why does it not work in 7 mode when I'm logged in as the right user and already have the drive mapped (because another session is created for the task to run in, ignoring the existing session?)? Also I'd rather not change paths to UNC because the script uses M: paths too, and so do other scripts it calls.

I have tried M:\Folder, M:\Folder\ , "M:\Folder" and "M:\Folder\". It does not work. It works under the Windows XP mode, where it contains M:\Folder without quotes or trailing slash, but it doesn't seem to have an effect on the Windows 7 mode.

comment How to prevent the Win8 navigation panel from automatically expanding?
@user3025457 Are you sure you are not using a beta version? If not, try installing some Windows updates and/or upgrade the system to 8.1. I cannot reproduce this behaviour with the tick cleared.

comment Open Excel files in new window
Each book has its own window, but they all still belong to the same instance of Excel (which can be highly confusing when you have code that wants to work with multiple opened workbooks).

This answer should not be used. See When I double-click an Excel spreadsheet, Excel opens but the document doesn't as for why. Also see this answer.
