comment schroot Don't Share Home Directory
Unfortunately, the directory gets remounted later, and I'm not sure by what mechanism.

I think this question is misplaced. It should be on Unix & Linux SE. How do I move it?

@DibloDk They refer to the same part of the disk, and, naturally, have the same contents, so I'll say they're the same :-)

@DibloDk Oops, I guess enter sends the message. The reason I want it changed is for security. I have a chroot so that I can run programs (I'm currently running Windows programs using wine, so I truly don't trust them!) without as much risk to my system. I don't want the programs to have access to my home directory. I hope that answers your question.

@DibloDk If I understand your first question, I think the answer is yes. find /home/username returns the same values whether I'm chrooted or not.

comment How do I detach a process from Terminal, entirely?
Although succinct is valuable, completeness is more valuable. Although nohup is a GNU coreutil, a bash-only answer (or note about there not being one) would be appropriate here. Good answer nonetheless.

comment Linux - Mount device with specific user rights
Changing the ownership of all the files on the device is very invasive. Since there is a -o option for mount, it is the better way.

comment How to determine what Outlook rule was applied?
They're close in Outlook 2010, go to Advanced > Other > logging. Unfortunately, no information on applying rules appears in the logs (when I tried).

comment How to crop permanently in Acrobat?
Ha, but then, I "save as reduced size pdf" and the size is now .2 times the original size. For clarity, the original (from scanner) was 2.01M, the sanitized was 23.15M, and the sanitized, reduced is .44M. ::wags head::

Excellent answer, it works for me. The problem is that after I do it, my file is ten times bigger! What happened!?

comment Best practice for laptop: sleep or shutting down
I don't see that Hybrid Sleep is an option for "When I close the lid:". Am I missing something? It gives four options, "Do nothing", "Sleep", "Hibernate", and "Shut Down".

comment Outlook 2010 RULES - How to use “OR” boolean
EEk. At my work, there are so many lists and such that rule count is actually a problem. Outlook 2010 has a rather low rule number limit, so a reasonable filtering strategy would be nice. Is it obvious why there isn't something like an "Advanced" button where you can type a quasi sql statement?

comment Unable to Change NT Service Startup Type
This surely isn't the right way to do this. I'm assuming that there's code executing somewhere that's making those controls unavailable, and not only that, but the code is there for a reason! :P
