OS X Disk Utility Fails to reformat Thanks! This seems to have worked. I was sure I did all of this but I must have missed a combination. I think I probably didn't select the disk and selected the partition instead. |

OS X Disk Utility Fails to reformat Trying this ... am now having problems making a mac bootable usb. Am trying help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/… and tillmail.de/wordpress/436 but with no lock so far. Will report back on this once I have it working. |

define $HOME variable in gnome-terminal profile (for bash) I do work on a server with everything nicely setup in /home/user/ but the server is slow so it's would be nice to do some development on the local box as if I was working on the server. Superficially, I thought redefining $HOME might be a good way of doing this ... anyway, it's probably a bad idea altogether. I think bad things can happen redefining HOME since so many processes may depend onit. |

new local mysql database without root access? Yeah, that might be helpful. I could try to do a local install and run off that. Thanks! |
