comment My new servers will shutdown instead of rebooting when I do init 6 or equivalent, any idea?
Okay, I checked on my two servers and the mei_me is still installed and kicking... so the newest version must have been fixed, somehow. Ubuntu 14.04 uses kernel 3.13.0.

It may be what happened under the hood, I'll have to check. It started to work at some point when I upgraded my servers.

comment Vim: is it possible to add a modeline for :syntax sync fromstart in a file?
Yeah... and I was thinking that the minlines and fromstart were no set commands... too bad.

comment Noisy 1U fan, can it be changed?
How would you know whether a replacement fan will give the same amount of cooling? I was thinking that fans were sold with BTU info, but looking into it, I don't seem to see much of that...

comment What disk image should I use with VirtualBox, VDI, VMDK, VHD or HDD?
Performance wise, I think the best is to create fixed disks if you have the space. Otherwise it is very stressful on the OS when using the virtual machine instead of once at creation time.

comment apache client denied by server configuration after mac OS X upgrade to Yosemite
This is cool, although the old Order/Allow/Deny are still working if you have the access_compat module turned on. I think it would have been better for me to get errors and fix my setups instead of letting it go for longer with the old configs.

comment MemTest86+ bad adresses constant despite swapping sticks, processor/MOBO to blame?
@imsotiredicantsleep, some people have 2 computers with the same specs and thus can swap parts between both. But I totally agree, hardware going bad is hard to test for most of us, unfortunately.

comment How to convert PSD to JPG or PNG on Linux with Gimp CLI/batch mode (or other server-side tool)?
Interesting that you say that the Gimp has great support for PSD. I have had a lot of problems loading any PSD files with the Gimp, at least under Linux (I don't really use MS-Windows). Now on the other hand I have more luck with convert to convert PSD files, something like this: convert sample.psd[0] sample.jpg. The [0] index is to get the resulting image (all the layers merged on in image.)

revised GIMP: change one colour to another?
Added a VERY IMPORTANT STEP which is to transform the image to RGB before doing color changes.
