I'm a computer science student at Princeton. My mission is to apply computer science to other fields - especially neuroscience, economics, and data mining. I'm also really into music and entrepreneurship.

I wrote my first app (a VB6-powered word-search solver) when I was 7, and I've been hooked on programming ever since. I discovered and got involved in the Stack Overflow community in 2009 (when I was 12).

comment Devices/Printers list not loading on Windows 7 with Bluetooth enabled
@techie007: nope, nothing in the logs except the following message pretty often: Windows cannot store Bluetooth authentication codes (link keys) on the local adapter. Bluetooth keyboards might not work in the system BIOS during startup.

@techie007 One of the printers is connected via USB, while the other two are shared over HomeGroup. But there are some Bluetooth devices under Devices and Printers. I'll check the logs now.

comment Booting a virtual machine non-virtually
Ooh, that's really cool! I haven't heard of that stuff, so I'll check that out. Unfortunately, it won't always be Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2... :(

comment Why is my CD-ROM device being automatically disabled at boot?
hmm, I've looked in the BIOS and couldn't find anything like that. In fact, I couldn't find anything about the CD drive in the BIOS at all, except boot order, that is. Thoughts? Here's the whole BIOS listing: support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/late6410/en/SM/bios.htm

comment IPv6 issue with joining HomeGroup while using Comodo Firewall in Windows 7
Just found another post (sevenforums.com/network-sharing/…) that refers to the registry fix but says that you have to reboot for the changes to take effect. I'm going to sleep now and will shut off my computer - in the morning, I'll update this question! :)

comment Disabling required keystroke for boot
I looked in the BIOS menu but didn't find such an option. Do you know whether it exists in the FastTrak BIOS controller and if it does, what it's called?

comment Disabling required keystroke for boot
Unfortunately, the screen I see doesn't say anything about an error. At the top, it says "FastTrak BIOS controller" and then it looks at the disk, saying that it's "Optimal". Next, it waits for a few seconds, then beeps and says "Strike F1 to continue or F2 for setup utility."

Has anyone else noticed that the "Shift" keyboard-button-thing (with the KBD command) is lacking an "f"?

comment How can I run a C# application from the Window Task Scheduler?
the above comments are confusing. so, wait, you want to do this manually? Well, then the answers work. If not, the question belongs on SO, but it was already migrated here. On another note, there's a pretty easy-to-use library out there for C# that I've used before to programatically add an entry into the task scheduler.

comment Windows Firewall: Logging/Notifying on outgoing request attempts
I mentioned in my update of the original question that only destination IPs are listed. I'm looking for the file path of the executable that made the request.
