comment i7 overclocking problem
apparently. its definately not the one i returned to them as the one i returned wouldnt boot full stop - powered on for a few seconds then went into a restart loop. theyve said that its a manufactur fault that had caused a section of it to overheat. i dunno, this all started at the beginning of December and I'm still trying to sort the issue out.

I see your sentiment but the point here is that a specialist provided the bundle of the processor, RAM, motherboard and cooler preoverclocked to 4GHz. I had to return the board to them in december as it had a manufacturing fault.Since then the replacement is not performing as it should. I know these speeds are possible.

exactly. I'm getting nothing but rubbish from the supplier, Overclockers UK.We'll see what happens once theyve replaced the bundle

comment Video has become blurred and smoothed out?
i think ive reinstalled DivX as part of the process of trying to fix this. The only notable thing that I'd done just before this problem occured was install Fallout New Vegas on the machine :-(

I've also just noticed that the problem seems to be mainly in Windows Media Player. Its annoying as I prefer to use that for quickly opening videos. In DivX player and VLC things look fine - I dont want to have to use these though all the time and the change seems to have happened just recently. Any ideas?

Hi,I've just updated the video card drivers and found no improvement.

The issue is definately with the overclocking as it boots without the overclock. I have just one video card, a Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X 1GB Graphics card. Not sure of the voltage but it is in a pct slot and is wired in with a 6pin PCI power cable from the power supply.

ok, here's the latest - I've just received a replacement power supply, plugged it in and still no luck. To make sure its not down to anything condictuver touching where it shouldnt I've taken the motherboard out now and have it on the glass surface of my desk. Plugged in the power supply and have the same problem.

@Troggy no smells, weird marks, burning or anything odd. The system is super cool and has been since I put it together so it's a (worrying) mystery. I've raised an RMA with ebuyer and will try returning it to them. unfortunately I dont have access to spare power supplies (who are these pple who keep spares lying around?!?) :-)

@Troggy - yes the CPU fan and all three case fans switch on - until the supply cuts out after about 2-3 seconds
