comment Windows 7 can't connect to DNS
Sounds like they've changed you to manual DNS on your wireless adapter to the DNS server for the vpn. If you set it back to automatic or change it to the opendns ones it should work while not on the vpn it may break the vpn.

comment Fan flow direction
Unless the heatsink is shaped that should be okay. Some are designed to minimise the dead zone behind the fan hub and need to be mounted in a particular configuration.

I get that but if Firefox thinks it's out of date it will block it I don't know about opera.

comment Webmin Java applets not starting
I'm not sure if this is the reason but they've updated java yet again for another security issue to update 17 which may have caused mint or firefox to disable java until you update

comment How can I run a program with Administrator permissions on startup, and minimize to tray?
Have you tried the task scheduler? That should let you run it as administrator I'm not sure about minimised.

comment Unknown host to access ftp on new server
If you try nslookup servername and it fails you have a DNS problem. If it's resolving the ip address try tracert and see where it's getting lost.

comment New OS SSD - unable to boot with it
I just had a quick read of the Paragon manual, have you created a winpe recovery media? That looks like it has some tools for repairing boot issues. The section I was looking at in the manual is titled "Correcting the boot configuration data"

It shouldn't be necessary, I've used the startup repair many times when imaging win 7 it works very well.

comment Router cannot continously look for a Dynamic IP
Not the one of your laptop, the one of the router they gave you. That's what they are expecting to get the address request from.

It's possible your isp is restricting dhcp addresses to the mac addresses of the routers it issues it might be worth looking for an option to change your new router's address to the one of your old router.
