comment Why is cd in Windows not able to switch between drives?
I don't agree this is a duplicate. The "duplicate" asks how, not why.

comment Who provides SSL certificates to Google?
The root certificate I see is "Equifax Secure Certificate Authority" as the root. Chrome also uses certificate pinning for Google's own websites.

comment Open a network drive with different user
At the command line you can run net use * /d /y - that'll cause Windows to forget any cached credentials you have to an open network share. I typically have a shortcut that points to cmd.exe with -k net use * /d /y as arguments for this very reason.

comment Win8 consent.exe “File system error -1073741819”
I've seen some really goofy problems for this with sound codecs. consent.exe plays a sound when it pops up, and if you have a bad audio driver, consent crashes. Try booting into safe mode and turning off your audio drivers.

comment Is there any way to run a legacy 16-bit Windows program on Mac?
What OS was it designed to run on? Perhaps it would work in DOSBox if it was designed to run in DOS.

comment Disable Windows 8 Charms Bar top-right reveal corner
I don't think you can do that, what you can do is disable the mouse shortcut all together and use Win+C to show the Charms bar when you need it.

comment What is the Windows 7 equivalent of bash's “export PS1” to set prompt color
As far as I know, no cmd.exe does not offer that, though that works just fine in PowerShell.
