Probably hand-written. The markup is too concise to be computer-generated. It might have been written by a computer program that allows the user very specific control over the formatting codes, however -- which would be just one step away from being hand-coded.

I got the same error message and confirmed it was being caused by GSSAPI authentication. I disabled GSSAPIAuthentication in sshd_config. Was that the correct thing to do?

We'd have to know more about your the VPS service you purchased: how much RAM and disk space it comes with; which version of Ubuntu; whether you can install your own Linux or if you have to use one of their "canned" versions.

Didn't work on a Mac, either, for the same reason. (I had to use mkfifo to create the pipe, though.)
