Remember Shift+Insert in QBasic? I was secretly hoping that would still work.

If you want to construct a notes:// URL manually, it's of the structure: notes://servername/databaseName/viewName?OpenView or notes://servername/__dbReplicaID/viewUNID?OpenView for a view notes://servername/databaseName/0/documentUNID?OpenDocument or notes://servername/__dbReplicaID/0/documentUNID?OpenDocument for a document You can leave the server name blank (so the protocol starts with notes:///) if you want to access a local database, view, etc.

Oh, maybe the url is formatted wrong? When I do it, it looks like "Notes://server.name.com/replica-number-no-colon/view-number-no-OF-no-colon/note‌-number-no-colons-no-dashes-no-initial-OF" When I added that as the address for a hyperlink in Word and Ctrl+clicked it, it went to the right email in notes.

+1 to BootCamp. Do it native. I had nothing but trouble using VMWare Fusion (another virtual machine) for things like this.

Get the Firefox 4 beta! Not only would you solve your issue (probably), but you'd be helping prevent these sort of things in the future. ;)

Also, if you are afraid of destroying data, that means you aren't backing up! The hard drive could fail at any time. Might want to think about backing up. External HDs are cheap! Don't risk it. :)

comment How do I fix a super slow MacBook?
Just some clarification; when you copy files back from an extenal, does that mean using time machine? Time Machine backs up everything, including system files. If you reinstall and then restore from time machine, it will also bring back your crummy old system files.

comment Firefox tabs in titlebar - can't drag maximised windows across monitors
I figured I'd try to actually be helpful, so I downloaded 4 Beta 9, but it doesn't put the tabs in the titlebar when maximized. Did you have to set something to make it do that? Do you mean full screen mode?
