comment Lenovo Y50 Windows 8.1 Files always get corrupted
There are many text lines such as "Block start at 711680 time 56ms" from 50ms to 220ms.. What do you think? Is there any test I should be taking? Please, just let me know. Thank!

I will do so as soon as possible.. I've found a scarier thing now! Some directory with many files that I have here.. Some of the files became 0 bytes. Now, when I delete one of these 0 bytes files, another file (which was just in the right size of a few MBs) becomes 0 bytes! WTF?! Any idea?

Ok it didn't detect anything wrong. The "Conveyance", "Short" and "Extended" tests finished without any error. Other reports don't show any error either. Should I run the "Surface" tests? Which? The "Read"?

You mean the "Status" column at "Disk Management"? It's "Healthy". Everything is allegedly fine, but..

Yea, it opens way too slow with vi/m. Not good for me. And yes also to your assumption; I mean "offset" as in bytes within the file.

Since the file is very big (more than GB) I'm not even using lines. I need to deal with offset within the file only. Thanks Rob

Hi stephen! I've got into my BIOS in order to check if I have there anything related to virtualization but I couldn't find anyhthing. Anyway at Edit #1 you can see my system's details. Could you tell if it's a compatible one? How/Where do I check that? I'm totally lost in this area.. Thanks a lot!

comment Google Chrome suspicious connections
@Arjan How do I tell, then, to the mothership that I prefer to be an orphan? (: ......... It's about company's data security, the problem is that nowhere I could find it says exactly WHAT is being transmitted to google.

@Andrejs you're missing the point - it's not an argue but a discussion. OBVIOUSLY I CAN SIMPLY STOP USING CHROME! If it's not clear then - I'd like to know what these "transparent" connections are and what information they send out. Then I'll be able to choose if I want to keep using Chrome or not. Kapish?

Aw - and it surely has nothing to do with syncing with google in relation to bookmarks etc', as this is clearly no activated at the Options dialog of Chrome (it clearly states it).

As for reading the small print in the license agreement - could you point specifically? Because - THIS LOOKS LIKE A SPYWARE ACTIVITY.

@Randolph thanks for the reply! As I've just added "Edit #1" you can read that I've turned off all "advance" features of Chrome and it's running on "private" browsing mode. As for your comment at the OP I can say that this is all done because the browser is being used in a private institution where we want no external "factors" whatsoever.

comment Can I disable certificate error/warning in Firefox/Chrome/Internet Explorer?
Hi - thanks although that isn't my issue, or related, as far as I understand. These guys talk about a valid certificate which works on IE but not on FF, while I'm talking about a certificate which isn't backed up by any CA, it's a self-signed one, yet I cannot add it to exceptions.
