The /etc/fonts/local.conf file can take effect if you prefer manually editing the configuration files. I ever tweaked Fedora ( systutorials.com/5472 ) and am satisfied with the rendering. Hope the tips help.

@barlop Your finding is consistent with mine: heirloom-mailx works while bsd-mailx does not. Not aware about other working implementations yet.

When I configure no-ip, I must start a cron job to force the noip service every 5 hours ( fclose.com/4677/how-to-install-noip2-on-linux ) -- to capture the latest dynamical IP.
